THE STORY OF BAROKAH

Rooted in tradition | 1964 2026

More Than a Warung

We create moments around food
that feel familiar, warm, and real.

Cooking With Purpose

Every dish is prepared with care,
patience, and respect for its origins.

Where Our Story Begins

A place built on love for
Indonesian food and tradition.

Where our story begins

Warung Barokah was born from a deep love for Indonesian cuisine and the belief that food should stay true to its roots. What started with a passion for cooking has grown into a place to share a meal, and experience the richness of Indonesian culture through taste.

Every dish we serve is prepared with respect for original recipes, using carefully selected ingredients and time honored techniques. Authentic Indonesian food, made the way it’s meant to be.

Pasuruan, Indonesia

Warung Barokah begins in a busy household near Surabaya. Thirteen children, one kitchen. Food was never just food. It was how care was shown, how memories were made, how family stayed connected.

Cooking without recipes

Nothing was written down. Sri learned by watching hands move, by recognising spices by smell, by tasting and adjusting. Cooking wasn’t taught. It was absorbed. Every dish carried attention, patience, and feeling.

Malaysia

Nearly ten years in Kuala Lumpur meant long days in a small food business. Simple dishes, honest flavours. Sri learned that good food doesn’t need explanation. It brings people together on its own.

A new country, a new language, a new rhythm of life. Working in restaurants and catering, Sri built experience and discipline while holding on to the flavours of home. Her roots remained the foundation.

Warung Barokah

Sri always had the dream to make people happy with the authentic food she makes. It didn’t matter if it would be from home, a small shop or from a big restaurant. That is how Warung Barokah originated.

More than 17 years later

Warung Barokah is a place people return to. Guests come from nearby and from far away. Sri still cooks herself. Her son supports behind the scenes, helping preserve what once lived only in memory.

Looking towards the future

As we move forward, our focus remains the same: staying true to our roots while carefully growing. We aim to expand our catering services, reach more people who appreciate authentic Indonesian food, and create new ways to share our cuisine with communities and events.
